Randy Hooey Retires After 33 Years as Director of Safety

Sioux City, IA - June 16, 2026

After 33 years with Klinger Companies, Randy Hooey officially traded jobsite visits and safety training for retirement.

When Randy joined the company in January 1993 as our first full-time Safety Director, construction safety looked very different from what it does today. He helped develop our first written safety program and, more importantly, began building greater safety awareness throughout our field operations.

Over the next three decades, that work helped shape a culture in which safety became more than a program or set of procedures—it became a shared responsibility. Randy earned the respect of our field and office teams through his ability to teach, communicate, and connect with people. His influence is still evident in how our teams approach their work today.

His impact extends across the Klinger Companies family, including W.A. Klinger, Gleeson Constructors & Engineers, Klinger Constructors, and Younglove Construction.

Thirty-three years leaves quite a legacy. Thank you, Randy, for everything you've given to our people and our companies!
