W.A. Klinger Teaching Professorship Established at Iowa State
In 2003, Iowa State University honored William A. Klinger’s lasting impact on construction education by establishing the W.A. Klinger Teaching Professorship for the head of the construction engineering department. Charles Jahren, the first recipient, praised Klinger's groundbreaking idea that construction is an engineering discipline, integrating both civil and architectural engineering. Klinger's vision transformed construction education across the nation, and his legacy continues to shape the curriculum at Iowa State, now home to one of the top construction engineering programs in the country.
