Designed and constructed state-of-the-art corporate headquarters
For their new corporate headquarters, MidAmerican Energy wanted to incorporate start-of-the-art energy savings systems. They knew W. A. Klinger possessed the capabilities to meet their needs.
Klinger designed a passive solar system with masonry and terra cotta exterior walls. A unique air conditioning system uses an ice machine that cools the air on hot summer days and provides ice during the night hours to reduce peak electric demands. A large wall of solar collectors on the roof heats the building in winter and provides hot water all year round.
The building’s interior is open and spacious. Other features include eight escalators and a rooftop helipad for transporting personnel to the airport and to power line inspections.
W. A. Klinger provided complete design and construction services for this exciting project.
