Klinger Reconstructs a Sioux City Landmark
Sioux City’s leaders faced a major dilemma with their new City Hall building. The historic building, constructed in the 1890’s, had structural problems due to its old cedar piles that caused the building to settle. This required major reconstruction; however, everyone wanted to preserve the landmark building. The City contracted W. A. Klinger to handle the challenging project.
The Klinger team tore down the old structure and rebuilt it using the original stone and other salvaged materials. The completed structure combines the best of old and new. The building retains its stately, historic appearance, while its interior features efficient, modern amenities.
W. A. Klinger is proud to have contributed to the preservation of this Sioux City landmark.
“The City of Sioux City is delighted with the quality design and construction services provided by W. A. Klinger for our new City Hall. The Klinger team provided the vision and professional services we needed to preserve a significant landmark for our community.”
Mr. Craig Whitehead, City Manager, Sioux City, Iowa
