Klinger Updates High School with Minimal Disruption
W.A. Klinger was selected as the Construction Manager/General Contractor by the South Sioux City, Nebraska schools for their new high school. The project involved the addition of approximately 100,000 square feet and remodeling of the existing school.
In the first phase of construction, new space was created for expanded classrooms and science labs. The second phase of construction provided four new gyms, office/administrative space, music rooms, and additional classrooms. Once students moved into the new addition, the existing high school was remodeled.
The prior site layout had the junior high school and senior high school on the same land parcel, but as separate facilities. The second phase of the new project connected the two to provide a continuous enclosed environment for both junior and senior high schools. Efficiencies in overall operating costs were also achieved through this process.
The phased project was successfully completed in a little over two years.
